Address each of the items in the table. Write four to five sentences in each cell. Law Enforcement Courts Corrections Are allied professionals who are trained to support victims of crime. There are many ways to support victims ranging from but not limited to, providing emotional support, helping receive services from court as well as obtain resource information available in community and to help guide victims through the criminal justice system and how it pertains to their case. Victim advocates must have a strong communication skill set, be able to multitask, explain the judicial system to those who may not be aware of how system works, have active listening skills, be supportive, empathetic, engaged and make victims feel important, respected and understood and also answer/explain in lay mans terms questions that victims may have so they are aware and understand whatever procedure, situation or question related to the crime they were a victim of they may have to participate in or have. Attention to detail is also very important guardian ad litem is a volunteer to help children in your community. The primary responsibilities of the guardian ad litem include but is not limited to, represent the individual the court specifies , and must take immediate action to resolve any conflicts or impropriety that arises. The guardian ad litem does this by advising the court to provide direction or by resigning from the case . The guardian ad litem is a advocate for the child and is a liaison speaking to the courts on the child’s behalf. The relationship between the guardian ad litem and the court is to advocate for the child, investigate and present findings and recommendations on behalf of the child to the court. Guardian ad litem must be able to communicate effectively and, on a level, where the child you are advocating for can understand, must be gentle, understanding, supportive and thorough as well as attentive and respectful. Understanding the dynamics of the child’s family and the expectations of the court and present the court with clear and precise information on behalf of the child Government funding privatized prison organizations help the overcrowding issues that are causing much discord, cost and issues within the prison system. Those who are employed by any prison, jail, or detention center (private or state/federally run) must have strong communication skills, empathy but a strong and respectful personality and physical stature. They must possess the ability to listen to inmate complaints, explain how you will address it with your superiors or follow the chain of command, show respect, be able to handle stress and highly volatile situations with professionalism and proper handling. Follow procedures, be patient and work well with others. A good will ambassador is an individual who is well known in the community and who speaks on behalf causes important to the community and or the globe. Goodwill ambassadors require good writing skills, understanding on the events and issues in the community that they are advocating, excellent listening skills both active and passive. Cultural awareness especially when dealing with multicultural communities. Also, must show respect and understanding. Attention to detail is very important as well as strong communication and awareness Court reporters, stenographers both preform written documentation for the courts which are legal documents and are part of the court process. These documents are crucial both during and after proceedings, the lawyers, the state, county and judge all need access to exact information presented the court. This information is a major part of the process. It is written documentation of all proceedings going on within the case before the court. Translators, translate what is being said to victims who do not use English as a first language. Patience and professionalism are necessary as well as calm, professional mannerisms as well as accuracy and understanding of the procedures so that it may be relayed accurately to the victim. These professionals aid the community and the law enforcement professionals in helping with observation in neighborhoods, community areas and help in other non-urgent duties should they be of assistance. This is like a neighborhood watch patrol as they observe and make sure things day to day are secure and safe. Any issues that arise Counselors and or Psychologists have a major function in the court system. They assist with competency of defendants, evaluate violent offenders, advocate in custody cases(children) and provide professional assessments as to competency, ability to stand trial, mental status to name a few. They also can assist with legal issues dealing with defendant who may be at risk violent offender has possible mental health issues. Contractors or vendors are civilians who work within the criminal justice building or correctional facility, jail or prison to prepare/serve the inmates meals, a dining hall for the judges or constituents in the courthouse, possibly running the commissary where inmates get toiletries etc. or a outside teacher/nurse of inmates for example a AA meeting, medical clinic or GED instructor. These people are doing jobs within the facilities that the facility
