CHCMHS005 Written Assessment 1 Q1 Explain how the following legal and ethical considerations for trauma related practice are applied in relation to your workplace. Identify the relevant Northern Territory, National and International documentation (e.g., Disability Discrimination Act 1992). Legal and ethical considerations for: Application and Relevant Documentation a) Codes of practice Application: Code of practice provides practical guidance for people who have work health and safety duties. These codes give guidance on how to achieve the standards required under the Act and effective ways to identify and manage risks. A code of practice applies to anyone who has as duty of care in the circumstances describe in the code. In most cases, following an approved code of practice would achieve compliance with health and safety duties in the act. Documentation: Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2011 e) Discrimination Application: Commonwealth and state/territory laws determine that people cannot be discriminated against based on assessment of their race, nationality, gender and sexual preference. Duty holders must choose the most efficient means of controlling risk from a range of possibilities and be able to show that all that was practicable and reasonable was done to prevent harm.
