The Appendicular Skeleton Appendicular Skeleton: Upper Limbs  Locate and identify the bones of the upper limb.  What are the divisions of the appendicular skeleton?  Describe similarities between the upper and lower limbs. o What are differences between the upper and lower limbs? o How do these differences aid in the function of the limbs?  Upper body o Name the bones of the shoulder girdle . o Name the bones of the arm and forearm . o Name the bones of the hand .  Examine the shoulder girdle .  Examine the clavicle . o What two bones does it attach to? o How does it attach to these bones? o Note that the joint between the humerus and the shoulder girdle does not surround the entire humerus.  Examine the humerus . o Locate the head.  What is the purpose of this structure?  What bones articulate with the humerus here?  Examine the forearm . o Note the differences between the radius and ulna . o Examine the radius .  Locate the head.  What bone does this articulate with? o Examine the ulna . o How do these bones move during pronation?
