The CT reveals several issues with the cranial structure, one of which might be in the
cribriform plate, but the image isn't well defined. What non-invasive test can you do to
test if the cribriform plate is severely damaged? Why?
-The non-invasive test that can be done if the cribriform plate is severely damaged
would be the Handkerchief test. The Handkerchief test will determine if there is nasal
discharge, it will appear clear, thick, and sticky if there is CSF secretion on the gauze
pad. (Oh J., et al, 2017)

The doctor tests the patient's field of view with an astigmatism chart and finds that the
patient states that there are blind spots and distorted lines in both eyes he never noticed
before. These blinds spots and distortions remain constant. What structure within the eye
could cause these distortions? How can you verify your suspicion?
-The optic nerve contains many fibers that could cause distortions of vision, but the
optic disc is responsible for the cones and rods present in the eye making it possible for
vision in those areas of the eyes. Another part of the eye that could be responsible is the
macula which makes it possible to see small details and central vision.

Both his lungs have received some damage and both tympanic membranes have burst
during the explosion. Why?
-His lungs would have suffered damages from inhaling the particles, smoke, and debris
from the explosion. Both tympanic membranes likely burst due to the impact of the
explosion. The swift change in air pressure from the blasts’ high frequency would result
in over pressure of the tympanic membranes not being able to withstand the pressure.
