Describe one of the beliefs and values of the Navajo as illustrated in your readings.
One belief the Navajo has that is illustrated in the reading is that ceremonial performances can be used to help treat mental and physical ailments. These ceremonies often include community members and can last for days.

Describe one way in which the Navajo have incorporated their beliefs and values into the societal structure on the reservation since regaining some autonomy in the 1970's.
One way that Navajo beliefs and values have been incorporated into societal structure is that many k-12 schools were created on the reservation, that teach the history of the tribe. These schools do so primarily using their native language.

What beliefs and values can be found in your culture? How do these beliefs and values influence your day-to-day life?
One huge belief found in NH culture is that we are all meant to live freely. A value in our culture is to do so independently and be self-reliant in many ways. Our state motto Live free or die, really perpetuates these beliefs and values. In my day-to-day life I strive to be able to provide for my family as independently as possible as much as possible, we garden, hunt, fish
and heat by woodstove. We utilize the land and resources of our beautiful state not only to provide food and shelter but also to provide experience and teach my children how to provide
for themselves as well without always being reliant on modern conveniences.
