Benchmark—Gospel Essentials
Everyone in the world has a world view weather if its religious or non-religious. This class has taught that people have a world view on everything we believe or do in our daily life’s. Specifically, the Christian worldview that is a very popular belief from all people across the world. Although there are various views within the Christian worldview, there is a core set of beliefs that all Christians shares. In this paper I will talk about the specific components that are the Nature of God, Nature of Humanity, Nature of Jesus, and Restoration. These major components are a big part of the Christian world view and help build the foundation to this belief. Knowing these components is extremely important to understanding the Christian world view at a surface level and very deep level at the same time. Gospel Essential Beliefs
Nature of God
Explain the nature of God can be very confusing weather you are explaining it to a believer or a non-believer. The word triune stands for to be trinity. The triune of God is one God who made everything we know and love on the earth and universe and everything else. The Christian world view believes that there is only one God but that he is triune. In this trinity God has three divine persons known as The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirt. All three of these persons are responsible for the creation of everything. God has many characteristics
that are shown all throughout the bible especially when the bible is talking about the creation. “Some of these attributes include that he is unchanging, eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-present”
(Diffey, 2015, para. 10) Attributes like this are only ones God has no other being has them, but God also has other characteristics that can be characteristics of us beings aswell. “God is good, loving, just, jealous, faithful, and holy.” (Diffey, 2015, para. 10) Gods’ creation is the whole 2
earth and universe God made everything. The bible is always talking about the creation of mankind and the universe. “Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.”(John 1:3, NIV) This is a great example of Gods attributes in the creation and how out of love he made a great universe for mankind to live in.
Nature of Humanity
According to the Salem Press Encyclopedia the definition of human nature is “the qualities that set humankind apart from other creatures. This includes psychological and social aspects of humans, in particular actions and interactions. Among these are curiosity, emotions, reasoning, and language aptitude.”(
Campbell, 2022) God created human to walk in the light of God and worship him and to take care of the earth and its creatures. “Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,

and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”(Genesis 1:26–27, NIV) These verses from Genesis are a perfect example on what the Christian Worldview believes the human purpose is. The root cause of the human problems on the earth in the eyes of the Christian Worldview begins
at the story of Adam and Eve. God told them to take care of the garden but not eat this one specific food, but they ate it. Them not following Gods rules introduced sin into the world and this led to the change of the human nature. “But you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” (Genesis 2:17, NIV) This act also introduced death into the world.
