Evaluating Editorials
What are the purposes of this piece (to persuade, to criticize, and/or to analyze)?
This work, which explores the development of human colonization of other worlds, is essentially analytical and critical. It talks about the philosophies and reasons
for this development, including technical utopianism and utopian concepts like the artificial uterus. The author criticizes the romanticization of development and the appearance of "utopian weeds" as examples of
human colonization. Persuasion is not the main goal; analysis and critique are.
What does this piece argue?
This piece argues the shift from a hopeful concept of human colonization to a fear-driven and desperation-
driven endeavor, highlighting the emergence of "utopian weeds" like artificial uterus. The piece also discusses the rise of concepts like 'Singularity' and technological utopianism and the influence of Romanticism on a Mars-based future. Do you agree
with the opinion given
in this piece? Why or why not?
With this text, I disagree. As Christians, we ought to be
aware that, as we proceed on our spiritual path, God will grant us residency in heaven. Considering that we are fortunate enough to live in heaven, we shouldn't have to worry about the state of the planet getting worse. Planets like Mars don't need to be colonized when God has given us amazing things. God is always going to lead us through difficult times on Earth despite "global warming." God always has a plan and a
solution. He will lead us as he is aware of what is ahead. God tells his people that we will live in times of tribulation but that he has overcome the world. With his help, we're going to be triumphant before he comes
to see us once more.0
