What is your perception of researchers and the role you believe they serve in the academic community? What kinds of mental and behavioral changes do you think you will need to make in order to become a successful researcher?
Hello Professor and class:
Researchers are explorers of advancements and new innovations with the intention to grasp a better understanding of how to create better things for their community. Researchers are also instrumental in determining the concepts between the society of students and educators. As a student of doctoral studies, the expectation is that I am always a forward and critical thinker desiring to expand my knowledge in my field of study in a and outside of the educational realm. It is also crucial to maintain a mentality of a doctoral student exercising both the professionalism and intellectualism of what it entails to personify your position.
Researchers whose studies were based in the surrounding community were significantly more likely to involve community members in all stages of their research (e.g., selection of the problem, project planning, data collection, interpretation and dissemination of results, or developing an intervention) than were faculty whose studies enrolled community members as research participants but whose studies were not set in the community. (Goldberg-
Freeman et, el. 2010)
One of the challenges that I will face with research is having the patience that that is needed during this daunting task along with the time constraints that research can take depending on what I am looking for. Some information is not as easy to ascertain than others. The behavioral changes that will be needed to become a successful researcher are having a dedicated time to get the reading completed, back up plans for if technology fails, keeping on top of the reading, developing writing skills to support facts that are discovered from the research that is done (Elsasser et al, 2020).

I agree with this statement, and it is why I decided to go for the doctorate’s degree. I want to be able to expand my knowledge in higher educational leadership without bias to grow within the field to be able to in turn make a difference in the university I work in. My desire is to eventually become an academic dean, and I want to implement changes
