Report
lights It was Halloween night, and the street lights were off as usual. But this year was different. A mysterious light was flickering in the distance. John, a young boy, was walking home late from a Halloween party when he noticed the light. He was curious, so he decided to investigate. As he got closer, he noticed the light was coming from an old abandoned house. He had heard stories about this place. It was said to be haunted. John had been brave enough to go into the haunted house before, but never at night. He hesitated for a moment, but decided to go in anyway. He slowly approached the door, but when he opened it, he was met with a startling sight. Inside the house, hundreds of jack-o-lanterns were lit and lined the walls. A strange figure was standing in the middle of the room, surrounded by the eerie glow of the pumpkins. John could barely make out the figure's face, but he could tell it was a woman. The woman spoke in a low, raspy voice, 'Happy Halloween, John. I've been waiting for you.' John was terrified, but he couldn't help but be intrigued. He asked the woman, 'Who are you?' 'I am the spirit of Halloween,' she replied. 'I have been waiting for someone brave enough to come and find me. I have something for you, John. Something special.' With that, the woman reached into a pocket in her cloak and pulled out a small bag. She handed it to John and said, 'Inside this bag you will find something that will bring you much joy. Use it wisely.' John thanked her, and quickly ran out of the house. When he arrived home, he opened the bag. Inside was a strand of glowing orange and black lights. He knew exactly what he had to do. The next day, John hung the lights around his house. From then on, every Halloween, the orange and black lights would be lit, and they would bring John much joy.
