Name and Scores of the Holland Code
When taking the O*Net Interest Profiler quiz, my interests include realistic, investigative,
artistic, social, enterprising, and conventional. I scored highest in social interest, with a score of
27. I also scored 14 in enterprising, 12 in artistic, 10 in conventional, 9 in investigative, and 3 in
realistic. Scoring higher in social interests means that I like working with others to help them to
learn and grow. When it comes to working, I have always told myself that regardless of what
career path I end up in, I want to make sure that I am doing something that helps others. Based
off of the interest quiz, the profiler quiz then allowed me to search through careers, based off of 5
different levels of difficulty and experience. Out of the five levels, each level listed numerous
careers that matched my interest and determined which ones were best for me based off of this
information.
Best Careers Based on Results
Based on the results from my interest quiz, Child, Family, and Social Workers (Job Zone
4) Mental Health Counselors (Job Zone 5), and Psychiatric Technicians (Job Zone 3) are three
careers that I potentially matched with. All three of these suggested careers are roles that I would
be interested in pursuing. Based off of my interest and my current education, these career roles
are roles that I could work towards with additional training and/or certifications. While these
were good matches, there were some career choices that matched with me, that did not interest
me.
Education Requirement, Potential Outlook of Career, Theoretical Salary, and Other
Information
3
Psychiatric technician is a career choice, in Job Zone 3, that I could start working as now
with my current education. The education requirements for psychiatric technicians are some
college or a bachelor’s degree. This career salary ranges between $28,660 and $58,880, but the
average salary in Virginia for this role is $37,380 (O*Net, 2023). While this role is in the mental
health field, there is typically a high turnover rate, making new job opportunities in this field to
be high.
Child, family, and school social worker is another career choice that I matched with, in
Job Zone 4. While I do have my bachelor’s and master’s degree, I do not have it in social work.
In order to work in this field, a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree is typically needed in social
work. This role also typically requires a certification in social work. The average salary for this
role is $50,820 in Virginia (O*Net 2023). This is another role that has a high turnover rate,
leading to new job opportunities being very likely. Child family, and school social workers
typically have a large case load, that can often times lead to burn out.
Mental Health Counselors was the third career choice that I matched with, being in Job
Zone 5. In this job field, a bachelor’s or master’s degree is usually needed, along with a
certification in counseling. The salary range for this role is between $34,580 and $82,710, being
on the higher end for licensed professional counselors (LPCs) (O*Net, 2023). This role also has a
high likelihood of new job opportunities in the future, especially with virtual counseling
becoming a higher need.

The O*Net Interest Profiler quiz was very easy to navigate. This was a very simple quiz
that anyone could easily take. This quiz was accurate in connecting me to careers that I would be
