Technology has quickly become an integral part of instruction and our student’s everyday education. Three of my current practices that can be improved through the use of technology are collaboration, giving feedback to my students, and instructional di±erentiation. As a teacher, it is always important to give our students feedback to help our students improve their performance over time. Using technology will allow me to improve my practice of giving feedback to my students. For example, in my classroom, my students complete all independent work such as exit tickets and homework on their Chromebooks in real-time. From my computer, I can watch as my students are completing their work, I can catch any misconceptions that I either planned for in my lesson or may have missed when creating my lesson plans, and I can single out the student's weaknesses and strengths. Having the ability to see my student's responses in real-time due to the use of technology, I am able to provide my students with in-the-moment feedback. In her article, Catucci (2020) mentions that feedback lets the learner know exactly where they stand with the material, plus it enhances learning and improves a learner’s enthusiasm for the curriculum. In addition, it allows students to take accountability for their learning and know the areas in which they need to improve or grow. Using technology to increase collaboration in my classroom will make students who are usually anti-social or quiet more comfortable with engaging and learning with their classmates. In addition, it will promote active student engagement and learning in and out of my classroom. As teachers, our goal is to develop the whole child. The first step in this process is preparing students to become active members of society and collaboration is a very important skill that all students need to have. Having my students complete group assignments or activities online on digital platforms such as Google Classroom allows my students to work together to solve problems and e±ectively communicate with each other both personally and digitally. With such digital tools available, students’ engagement and performance can be improved through novel and immersive classroom experiences that feature integrated learning management systems (LMS) and other educational content that use AI/Machine Learning (Education, 2022). No two children are the same, so that means that lessons need to be di±erentiated based on our student's needs and learning styles. In my
classroom, I like to di±erentiate my lessons and activities so all my students have equal access to the curriculum. Prior to taking this course, I had never known about personalized learning programs that use artificial intelligence “to assess students' current skill levels” (New EdTech Classroom, 2021). By incorporating this type of technology into my classroom, my students will have unlimited access to resources and lessons on their current levels and the support needed to help them progress and grow academically. When students are able to complete work tailored to their skill level they are able to find joy in learning and become enthusiastic about learning and participating in the process. I do not consider myself to be adept at utilizing educational technology. However, there are three practices that I would love to start implementing more in my classroom and my curriculum. These practices include collaboration, tapping into your support, and communicating learning objectives. In my classroom, I don’t do this more often, but I need to start incorporating more collaborative work and opportunities. Allowing my students to work collaboratively while using technology allows students to learn di±erent methods they can communicate with others such as through text, voice, or videos. Students are also having fun interacting with technology as they work together to problem-solve, learn new content, and complete given assignments. In addition, students learn to be open to diverse perspectives, stimulate their critical thinking, and improve their communication skills (Catucci, 2020). Tapping into my support for me is always collaborating with my grade team. I like to collaborate and check in with my fellow teachers multiple times a day, every day. My coworkers and I like to discuss strategies, activities, and meaningful extension activities that spark inquiry and learning both in and out of the classroom. I have students who have related services, so I also like to check in with their related services teachers and see how they are progressing and strategies that I can incorporate into my lessons to further support their learning. I need to start informing my students about lesson objectives when beginning every new lesson. As teachers, we always make it a point to activate our student's prior knowledge but we fail to make a connection to the previous lesson and add to their current knowledge of the particular content. Informing students about their learning objectives truly invests
