Module 4-2 Project Draft
The Eye of Providence is the choice of cultural work I’ve chosen to expand on; it’s a
symbol that’s been used in many different cultures and throughout history. It’s often associated
with divine providence or the belief that God watches over and protects humanity. The Eye of
Providence has been used in acts of creative expression in many ways; it can be found in
religious art, architecture, and literature. A well-crafted work of art, music, or literature can
inspire and motivate others to act, to think differently about the world, or to simply be more
creative themselves. Creative expression can be used to raise awareness of important social and
political issues, such as poverty, inequality, and environmental destruction. It can also be used to
build community and promote understanding between people from different backgrounds and
cultures. During the American Revolution, the Eye of Providence was used on the Great Seal of
the United States as a symbol of divine guidance and protection. These are a few ways acts of
creative expression have impacted the people and situations surrounding them.
Some questions about the relationship between culture and expression would include how
the Eye of Providence reflects the culture of the United States. We could answer this question by
stating the Eye of Providence is a symbol that’s been used in the United States since its founding.
It reflects the country’s religious heritage, the country’s values of freedom, democracy, and
individual rights. Another question we can ask is, how has the Eye of Providence been shaped by
the changing cultural and social landscape of the United States? We can answer this question by
seeing how and why the Eye of Providence was created and how it’s viewed today. The last
question we can ask is, how the Eye of Providence impacted the culture of the United States. We
can answer this question by looking deeply into the symbolism the Eye of Providence offers and
what role it plays in American culture.
Some questions about my values and how they’re shaped by the expression of others
would include, what values does the Eye of Providence represent? Because the Eye of
Providence has been used in many different cultures and religions, we could find the meaning of
this in each culture to answer this question. How have my values been shaped by the expression
of others, such as the use of the Eye of Providence in art and architecture? To answer this
question, we can search where the Eye of Providence has been used and why it’s used in those
places. How can I use my own creative expression to promote the values that I believe in? To
answer this question, we can explore the many ways we like to use creative expression and
expand on the ways the Eye of Providence has been used by others' creative expressions.
To answer the questions I have proposed, I will read books and articles about the Eye of
Providence, its history, and its meaning in different cultures and religions. Based on my research,
I would identify a list of values that the Eye of Providence can represent. I can conduct
interviews with people who are familiar with the Eye of Providence and who have experience
researching it. I would also think about how the Eye of Providence has been used in my own life,
and how it’s influenced my values.
