Johann Gutenberg is credited with inventing the movable-type printing press in 1448. The ability to mass-produce printed goods was made possible by this innovation, which completely changed graphic design. As a result, there was a general rise in literacy and the creation of new visual design tools like typography, advertising, and book design. Gutenberg’s movable-type printing press used individual metal letters, or type, which could be arranged and rearranged to create different pages of text. There are several differences between a fine artist, a graphic designer, and an illustrator. Fine artists produce works of art for aesthetic or philosophical reasons, frequently emphasizing social commentary and personal expression. In contrast, graphic designers focus on visual communication and problem-solving, applying design principles to achieve specific client messages and business goals through the use of websites and commercials. Illustrators are experts at producing pictures that accentuate and balance words or ideas. They frequently work with writers, publishers, or customers to visually express a narrative, bridging the divide between fine art and design while emphasizing representation and narrative. So, the key the main goals and types of work performed by these three professions are different: fine artists prioritize artistic expression, graphic designers focus on problem- solving and communication, and illustrators specialize in visual narrative. Among the prominent individuals that led it Charles Voysey, John Ruskin, and William Morris. However, the one that stood up was William Morris. He was a social reformer, poet, and designer who thought that everyone should have access to art and design.
