Peter and the Wolf Worksheet Peter lives at his grandfather's home in a forest clearing. One day, Peter goes out into the clearing, leaving the garden gate open, and the duck that lives in the yard takes the opportunity to go swimming in a pond nearby.   The duck starts arguing with a little bird. What do they argue about? The duck and the little bird argue about whether it's safer to be on the ground or in the sky due to the presence of the wolf in the forest. What instruments represent Peter? Why do you think these instruments were chosen for Peter? Peter is represented by the String orchestra because of its versatility, ability to convey a range of  emotions, and its association with storytelling in classical music. The vibrant and forceful violin embodies Peter's spirit of adventure and gives the character more depth on  an emotional level. What instrument represents the duck? Why do you think this instrument was chosen for the duck? The oboe stands in for the duck. This choice was probably made because the oboe's quacking sound naturally mimics a duck's vocalizations, perfectly encapsulating the essence of the character with its unique and whimsical timbre. What instrument represents the bird? Why do you think this instrument was chosen for the bird? The flute represents the bird due to its ability to mimic bird-like sounds. The lively and soaring quality of the bird character is perfectly captured by the flute's light and agile tones. Then a cat appears. What does the cat do? The cat in "Peter and the Wolf" tries to catch the bird but is unsuccessfu l. What instrument represents the cat? Why do you think this instrument was chosen for the cat? The clarinet stands in for the cat. The clarinet was probably chosen because of its languid and lighthearted tones, which effectively capture the cunning and elusive character of the cat in the tale as it tries to catch the bird. Peter's grandfather catches sight of Peter, scolds him for being out in the meadow alone, then takes him back into the house and locks the gate behind them. A big grey wolf comes out of the forest. What happens to the cat and the duck? The duck is sadly swallowed up by the wolf, but the cat is able to flee by scaling a tree. What instrument represents the wolf? Why do you think this instrument was chosen? Three French horns are a representation of the wolf. The story's depiction of the wolf as a predator and ominous creature is aptly captured by the deep, menacing tons of French horns. The French horns are used to create a distinct musical portrayal of the wolf's presence in the story, adding a sense of danger and foreboding to the character. Peter looks out the window and sees the wolf out in the meadow. What does he do? Peter makes the decision to act and plans to apprehend the wolf. With the intention of apprehending the wolf as it approaches, he grabs a rope and ascends onto the wall encircling the meadow.
. How did the little bird help Peter? The little bird is essential to Peter's assistance. The wolf is distracted and taunted by it as it circles above its head, allowing Peter to successfully trap it with his rope. Peter's victory over the wolf is aided by the bird's astute intervention. How does the story end? In the end, Peter manages to capture the wolf with the help of the bird. To protect the village, some hunters help to   march the captured wolf to the zoo. The narrative ends with a triumphant procession that represents Peter's resourcefulness and bravery in fending off the wolf's threat. What did you think of this way of telling a story? I believe that "Peter and the Wolf" takes a creative and successful approach in using music to tell the story. The use of distinct musical instruments to symbolize every character enriches and intensifies the narrative. Listeners are able to relate to the characters and events on a deeper level because of the music's addition of emotional depth.
