Introduction To Astronomy: The Cosmic Perspective In this forum please, take a moment to think about what you learned about the cosmic calendar and the Earth's place in space. Discuss in the forum by creating a new topic and then answering the following questions: What perspective does this give you about the planet you live on? Do you think it is possible that there are other worlds in the Universe where intelligent life exists or do you think we may be alone? To gain full credit for this discussion you must do the following: Create a post that is your own thought and words. +5.0 points Reply to one of your classmates post with a genuine comment or question that is not just one sentence along the lines of "I agree." or "Cool." +5.0 points The following are guidelines that will get zero credit. Creating a post that is not approved by the instructor for discussion due to inappropriate language or creating a post that is outside or off topic to the scope of the topic. Not posting anything at all. Not placing a comment or question on one of your classmates posts. Being disrespectful of others work.
After learning about the chapter and the cosmic calendar the perspective I have formed is Earth is very small. Throughout my life, and I believe this is shared by other students, I have always perceived our Earth as incredibly vast. I have no idea how I formed that opinion, but I guess throughout my school career and life experience I formed that opinion. I can't pinpoint the exact origin of that viewpoint, but I suppose it developed over the course of my educational journey combined with my life experiences. Now, I have a different perspective on what our Earth and cosmic address could hold. With my newfound perspective, I believe the possibility that there might be other forms of life within the time and space we have explored. This proposes many other questions, for example, is this life going to evolve into something that is intelligent or is it already intelligent? Where is this life if it is out there? Could it potentially be more intelligent than humans? To summarize, our Earth is very small in comparison to what is around us. The existence of life beyond our planet remains a possibility, and numerous unanswered questions persist. While our understanding of the cosmos has expanded, there is still much to uncover. It appears that with each passing day, we are accumulating more knowledge, striving to gain a deeper understanding of the time and space that humans consider home.
