Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion During this final simulation I tried to make decisions for Homestyle Honey with the thoughts of both economic goals with social responsibility intentions. Based on my approach, I made the decision to hire external high-level professionals to help manage and grow the business. This decision benefitted the company regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion as it allowed the honey business to form a diverse board of both family and external representation, rather than only family. This was a great choice for the business in regards to the future of Homestyle Honey and its growth where we will need more employees from outside the family on multiple different levels. Homestyle Honey could enhance its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) framework by ensuring that the family members continue to be engaged with the
company and do not make any decisions without involving all required stakeholders. This was evident in this simulation when the involved family were more concerned regarding how decisions were made affecting the family and not the business directly. Corporate Social Responsibility
Regarding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) I decided to go public with Homestyle
Honey and I started an Initial Public Offering (IPO). The decision to utilize external funds assisted with the quick growth of the business and allowed us to diversify and launch new products such as gourmet foods, cosmetics and apparel. All stakeholders are involved with these
decisions with the understanding that it will help the company in the long run. If we had remained with a honey-only business, we would not have resulted with a Regional Multinational business. For Homestyle Honey to continue to grow into an International company we will need to continue to develop our business culture with an understanding of CSR with ways that have an
