HCM 325 Module Four Journal Worksheet
In this journal assignment, you will have the opportunity to explore your selected product/service’s position in the market in relation to two of its competitors. This assignment will assist you in completing the Market Analysis section of your strategic marketing proposal, which you will draft for Milestone Two. 1.
State the organization and the product or service you selected for the final project.
-> Nupath; residential services.
Competitor 1: Identify the competitor and provide a brief description of the organization.
The Guild for Human Resources offers residential services just as Nupath. This organization has several other programs as well; day program/work, residential services, clinical services, and even health and wellness. 2.
Describe the competitor’s product or service:
This company offers residential services in several locations in MA. Giving an even more detailed explanation, Guild offers residents their own room when receiving
such service. All personal belongings are allowed to make the individual feel more at
home. “During the week, residents attend state-licensed day programs in community settings. Through the Advocacy Program, The Guild is committed to supporting individuals who seek to participate in personally meaningful community activities,” (The Guild for Human Services, 2022). These homes are protected by staff and fencing as well as constant maintenance. Individuals are allowed to go out into the community with staff whether it be for groceries or a new video game. These outings also extend to employment or even day activities. 3.
Outline three strengths and weaknesses for the competitor’s product or service:
Strengths
Weaknesses
1.
More locations
1.
Less interaction with solo bedrooms
2.
Offers different living environments (one bedroom per client)
2. Only two clinical staff members
3.
Has more variety of clinical services
3. No visiting hours defined
4.
Point(s) of Difference: Based on your analysis of the competitor product’s strengths and weaknesses, describe the unique aspects of the product that differentiate it from
similar products in the market. In other words, how does the product stand out in the market?
Guild offers plenty of services with a slim variety of clinical staff members. This will help the individuals get used to their clinical team but does not help with the rotation of staff. If new clinical people were to arrive, individuals would have a harder time adjusting. A benefit to the residential services offered is solo bedrooms for the clients. This can give a feel of a home or even security as no one is allowed in the bedroom unless they are staff. Room checks happen every night and allow for safety each hour. Residential services by Guild stand out due to the several differences from Nupath such as a variety of locations.
Competitor 2: Identify the competitor and provide a brief description of the organization.
Triangle, Inc offers supports of many kinds such as residential services.
5.
Describe the competitor’s product or service:

Strategy; Real Estate Services As a management accountant in a small real estate servicesfirm, you have become aware of a strategic initiative in your firm to promote its services to a newclass of customers. Currently, most of your firm’s customers lease space in large office buildingswhere they might occupy three or more floors of the building. Your firm provides maintenance, security, and cleaning services for the office space leased by these customers. The strategic initiative you have discovered is to seek out smaller firms that occupy as small a space as a fewthousand square feet. You know that most of these smaller firms are now serviced in a haphazardmanner, with part-time help for which turnover is very high; some of the smaller office buildingsmight not employ security of any kind. You expect that the demand for your company’s servicesamong firms of this smaller size will be good, but you are worried about the profitability of thesenew customers. In fact, although you cannot…
