7-2 Journal: Putting the Pieces Together The Healthcare Research and Evaluation course has played a crucial role in shaping the author’s skills and preparing me for a future career as a hospital administrator. In addition to the author’s schooling and experience, the author has acquired valuable knowledge in the specialized abilities that are essential for a healthcare administrator. Throughout this course, the author has acquired the expertise and abilities to use assessment tools, gather data, devise research methodologies, and conduct statistical analysis for the purpose of needs assessment and program development. In addition, the author has examined contextual factors in assessment, as well as evaluation designs and methodologies that are pertinent to program evaluation. The process of doing the integrated review has enabled the author to use the analysis and synthesis of published research results in order to derive conclusions on a particular intervention for a healthcare program. In order to enhance the author’s proficiency, the Final Project Integrated Review is structured as a sequence of milestone assignments that provide guidance throughout the process of composing the integrated review. Throughout each module the author has discovered that there are several patterns that need prioritizing by researchers in the domains of public health and clinical research. Healthcare researchers must direct their attention towards the technological breakthroughs and revolutions that greatly affect the healthcare field in today's society, Jacobsen, K. H. (2021). Technology facilitates nationwide contact between healthcare practitioners and patients. Telehealth allows people to get medical consultations from doctors when in-person appointments are not practical. Telehealth, or telemedicine, allows healthcare practitioners to provide therapy to patients without necessitating their physical presence at a healthcare institution. 1
7-2 Journal: Putting the Pieces Together Telehealth has been proposed as a possible remedy for the logistical difficulties associated with conducting medication reviews promptly and efficiently, particularly in rural and remote regions (Hanjani, 2020). A further developing trend in the healthcare sector is the use of electronic medical records. Medical records enable the smooth transmission of patient information between various healthcare providers. This technology simplifies the process of gathering and storing data, allowing for the monitoring of health patterns on a per-patient basis. Dr. Brian Hasselfeld, the associate medical director for digital health innovations at Johns Hopkins, reports that healthcare organizations are expanding their telehealth options and providing virtual consultations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic (Johns Hopkins, 2022). The healthcare delivery system is typically seen as advantageous by most patients since it alleviates the financial strain involved with commuting to and from medical appointments. Moreover, virtual visits provide the benefits of convenience and enhanced flexibility, making them more easily accessible for those with busy schedules. According to Jacobsen, K. H. (2021),. The aforementioned statement pertains to the use of telehealth services as a means to address obstacles and improve accessibility to mental health treatments. The extent to which telehealth is used has an impact on the association between obstacles and the ability to get healthcare services in a timely manner. This variable serves as a means of evaluating the efficacy of telehealth solutions in mitigating or removing certain obstacles. The courses have provided the author with a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare system and its operational aspects, equipping the author with the necessary knowledge 2
