2 Planning Document Question Check-In My issue: The issue I have chosen is genetic engineering, "Engineering the perfect baby" by Antonio Regalado. Genetic engineering is significant because it allows scientists to manipulate and modify the genetic material of organisms. The topic of genetic engineering brings forth a multitude of exciting opportunities in different areas like medicine, agriculture, and biotechnology. With genetic engineering, we can develop new treatments for genetic diseases create genetically modified crops that are resistant to pests and diseases and even produce useful substances like insulin and vaccines. The concept of "engineering the perfect baby" is a complex and controversial topic with in the realm of genetic engineering. while genetic engineering has the potential to manipulate certain traits in babes, it raises ethical concerns and debates. its important to consider the ethical implications, societal impacts, and potential consequences of such practices.
