Section A - Assessment Information Duration and/or due date: Task Instructions Summary and Purpose of Assessment: This unit applies to people with significant coordination and facilitation responsibilities for engineering or related projects. The projects will usually have fixed term or purpose and involve specific engineering-related tasks, such as installation and commissioning of plant, design of equipment or major overhauls. This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to establish the estimated costs associated with the acquisition of materials and labour on building and construction sites, together with the application of relevant overhead costs and margins. Knowledge of physical resource and supplier identification, assessment of the availability of and requirements for skilled labour and application of appropriate codes, regulations and approvals gaining processes is essential. This unit of competency describes the knowledge and skills required to undertake an environmental study as part of a civil engineering project. The unit includes the potential impact of the environment on a civil engineering project, preparation for and undertaking an environmental study and selecting and integrating an appropriate solution. You must demonstrate an understanding of: Review and confirm parameters of delegated project Coordinate implementation of delegated project Report on outcomes Read and interpret plans and specifications Identify and calculate labour costs Identify and establish physical resource requirements Develop estimated project costs Identify environmental impact Select appropriate environmental solution Integrate environmental solution What and where: This is an individual based classroom assessment.

Students found in breach of assessment conditions can be charged with academic misconduct, have their results cancelled, be excluded from the program and receive other penalties. It is a form of cheating and is a very serious academic offence that may lead to expulsion from the University.
