It will also ensure that the assessment process is fair, flexible, valid and reliable and evidence collected meets the rules of evidence which includes authenticity, validity, sufficiency and currency . This guide must be read in conjunction with the Candidate Assessment tool for assessment instructions. Please read all the information in this Trainer Assessment tool before conducting any assessment for this unit. PART 1: Assessment information: This part contains information on the assessment for this unit of competency and how an assessment will be conducted throughout this unit to achieve the competency. It also explains the record keeping requirements, plagiarism, reasonable adjustments, assessment appeals and other instructions necessary for the assessor to assist them to conduct an accurate assessment including: Purpose of the assessment Conditions, context, required resources and location of the assessment Assessment criteria Assessment tasks Outline of evidence to be collected Evidence criteria used to judge the quality of performance Administration, recording and reporting the requirements including special adjustments, appeals, reasonable adjustments and assessor intervention. PART 2: Assessment tasks and marking guides (model answers for tasks): This section contains assessment task information to successfully administer the assessment and the marking guides to make a valid judgment about whether competency has been achieved or not. In each assessment task, the assessor will find the following information : Task instructions Role play/practical demonstration/scenario information Information on resources required, where applicable (e.g. equipment, setting up the simulationenvironment) Marking guide

Context and conditions for assessment: To comply with the assessment conditions of this unit: Students must demonstrate adequate skills and knowledge evidence by providing a satisfactory outcome for each assessment task. They will be marked against the recommended model answers in this trainer and assessor guide. Skills for this unit of competency will be demonstrated in Greenhill Institute classroom and simulated environment located at Level 1, 212 King Street Vic 3000. Students will have access to suitable facilities, equipment and resources, including template documentation to undertake the assessment tasks for this unit of competency. Assessors of this unit must satisfy the requirements for assessors in applicable vocational education and training legislation, frameworks and/or standards. Resources required: You are required to ensure that assessment is conducted in a safe environment and students have access to the following resources for the unit. ( Please refer to required resource for each task in the Candidate Assessment Booklet). Student Learner’s Guide. Candidate Assessment Tool. Computer with internet connection to refer to various programs such as MS word, MS excel, MS PowerPoint or any other recognised software program. Clustering/holistic assessment: There is no provision for clustering of assessments in this unit. Competency requirements: Students must satisfactorily complete all assessment assessments to be Competent (C) in this unit. Students unsuccessful at achieving “Satisfactory” for any assessment at the first attempt will be given two opportunities for reassessment. If the student is still deemed Not Yet Competent (NYC) after two reassessments in a unit of competency, they will be required to repeat the unit as per the scheduled delivery of the course. For further details, refer to Greenhill Institute Re-Assessment Policy and Greenhill Institute Course Progress Policy . When deeming the competency of a student, the assessor must judge that the evidence collected meets the requirements of the dimension of competency and be certain that the student can consistently apply and transfer the skills and knowledge acquired into work situations. The assessor must ensure that the evidence collected meets the requirements of the Rules of Evidence(authentic, current, sufficient and valid) prior to entering results into the competency record sheet.

The assessor must use the marking guide and themodel answers to check the quality of performance. Assessment criteria: While making a judgment on a student’s competency, the assessor must ensure that students meet the following criteria through the evidence submitted for assessment tasks. Performance evidence: Evidence of the ability to: establish, implement, maintain and evaluate a work health and safety management system (WHSMS) for a work area of an organisation that complies with WHS laws, and oragnisational policies and procedures. establish, implement, maintain and evaluate effective and compliant consultative arrangements for managing WHS, including: identifying duty holders identifying and approving required resources developing and implementing a training program establish, implement, maintain and evaluate procedures for effectively identifying hazards, and assessing and controlling risks using the hierarchy of control measures. Provide information and complete documentation for a WHS management system Knowledge evidence: To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must demonstrate the knowledge to complete the tasks outlined in the elements, performance criteria and foundation skills of this unit. This includes knowledge of: details of relevant WHS laws relating to ensuring a safe workplace WHS organisational policies, procedures, programs and practices required for the performance evidence hazard identification and risk-management processes key principles, uses and components of the hierarchy of control measures and procedures for applying it in the workplace organisational and WHS legislative reporting requirements. Assessment tasks: To achieve competency in this unit, student must satisfactorily complete all the following assessment tasks within the date and time specified by you. This will demonstrate that the student has all the required skills and knowledge for this unit

The learners are required to answer in brief. They must answer all the questions correctly to be markedsatisfactory. Greenhill Institute training campus Assessment Task 2 (AT2): Project & Role play This assessment requires students to complete a series of tasks which includes role play in a simulated work environment.
