Week 3 CCC Template: Part 3 – Enacting Communication Change
Title Page
Part 1: Looking Ahead My sister will be the person I selected for this project. I find it difficult to communicate with my sister because our personalities clash. Our differences lead to constant misunderstandings and conflicts. Despite our efforts to find common ground, it seems as though we speak different languages. She has two children, whom I always protect from her bad decisions. My sister's impulsive nature often leads her to make questionable choices and put her children at risk. I have taken on the role of a protector and try my best to shield them from the consequences of her actions. It can be incredibly frustrating to know that they depend on someone struggling to prioritize their well-being. A manic-fic example of this occurred two weeks ago when I was babysitting my four-month-old niece for three days and nights. When my sister picked her up, she mentioned that she had a doctor's appointment the following day due to her not feeling well. I promptly informed her that I could carry on babysitting the baby for the weekend. I wanted to ensure the well-being of my niece. I knew that if my sister fell ill, it would not only impact her ability to care for her child but also put my niece at risk of catching the illness. My offer was turned down by her, and she took the baby along with her. The baby experienced a fever the following day and subsequently tested positive for influenza. My emotions were out of control, and I became very upset. This week, I am striving to manage my emotions successfully and work towards developing emotional self-control when communicating
with my sister.
