Southern New Hampshire University COM 405 – Personal Brand Communication Maricarmen Watson 6-2 Journal: Exemplifying Your Brand Assignment The way I would like how others perceive me and my personal brand in my workplace is as an effective, goal setting, detail-oriented, and fast learner person; I want my team to see me as a reliable person they can count on any time they have questions regarding their accounts or anything else work related. If I succeed on showing my personal brand this way to my coworkers, I will be able to make more long-lasting connections and showcase myself as the leader I dream; this will allow me to succeed on my ultimate goal of becoming the director of the sales department, also will enhance the working capabilities, connections, and communication in my team, allowing us to be more successful, and overcome every obstacle that may arise. The strengths my personal brand brings to a team environment are goal achieving, since I am driven to accomplish different goals efficiently and fast, I motivate people to not procrastinate, and my organization skills also helps maintaining a clean environment in which everyone can find the different files with no problems, I tend to save lots of information of different accounts we have since 2020, and everyone comes to me when they need them because they know I always maintain the files within reach. Aligning your ambition and personal brand with your companies brand will lead to success, as we read in the article – Authentic personal brand coaching – “The final stage in the authentic
branding model entails aligning and synchronizing your personal ambition and personal brand with your organization’s ambition and brand”. The way the corporate I work in works is basically “teaming” we have many people in and out, is such a big company that we have little people that stay constant, and people is always changing positions, so at the end instead of being a “team” becomes teaming, after listening to the leadership expert Amy C. Edmonson, I understood different effective ways to collaborate and communicate within teaming departments, on her TED talk she talked about the example of the Chilean miners that got trapped for 70 days, a fantastic example of a successful teaming, she explained that the steps to have efficient teaming is mainly on the leadership, a leadership that understands and accept they do not have all the answers, she called it “situational humility” which combined with “curiosity” and “psychological safety” allowed you to take risks with strangers, which means we need to be open-minded, remind ourselves we do not know everything, being curious about what others have to say, and listen to collect new ideas and create new realities. Since I work on a “Teaming” environment the best strategies would be Zoom meetings monthly, to analyze all the different changes and challenges the teams are going through and update monthly the teams’ structure. As a personality type of ENFJ-A I am the "Protagonist", I am very optimist, and act on what I think is right, I am fast taking decisions, and I love helping others achieve their goals, I am driven to success. All those traits make me being a very good communicator I tend to connect with people quicker, the best communication and collaboration style for my personality is any type of meeting, in person or via Zoom, since I always have something to say and something to ask
