Teachers can enhance their understanding of students' funds of knowledge by engaging with families and the students themselves. By documenting these funds of knowledge, teachers can gain insights into students' unique perspectives and knowledge of the learning environment (Moll, 2023). Furthermore, it is essential to recognize how teachers' own experiences and lived experiences intertwine with their academic and pedagogical knowledge (Moll, 2023). This understanding enables them to effectively bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical application in their role as professional educators. When lesson planning, I prioritize the perspectives of my students and their families to enhance their understanding of new concepts by building upon their existing knowledge. Currently, in our math lessons, we are focusing on addition and subtraction within the range of 1,000. To make the learning experience more engaging, I incorporate real-world examples that relate to the student's daily activities.
