Jasmin Barlow Com 311 Week 3-2 1. Data Analysis I’ve decided to work with campus students between the ages of 18-22 to help raise at least $3,000 for the St. Jude’s Research Hospital. While considering and using today’s modern technology, I’m able to reach my audience using the available social media platforms. Currently, students are using multiple social media platforms. Some examples are Snapchat, Tik Tok, and Instagram. I use the 3 listed and even Facebook every blue moon, even though very few in this age group use this platform. For the class of 2023-2024, there will be a total of 7,000 students enrolled in their undergraduate program and 2,000 enrolled in their graduate program. However, 1,000 undergraduate and 900 graduate students are exclusively online. The income for these students varies but the median income for students who are attending Southern New Hampshire University is about 65,000. The one goal that we have is we want to start with smaller donations instead of going with large donations. We chose to do that because of other obligations for students and because of the number of students enrolled. Now I also believe not only will we be able to achieve and complete the goal of raising 3,000 dollars but I also feel as though we can collect more than 3,000 and in a short amount of time. With a decent amount of the students taking their courses online. It will give us a smaller percentage attending the university campus. Geographically, the online students are spread around the country which means that we would ultimately have no choice but to focus and target the online students using social media platforms and maybe even the student email service. Southern New Hampshire University creates content for social media just about every other day. They have a following that is maybe about over 25,000 and they follow every hashtag that includes the acronym SNHU. Having these numbers and this type of following, is very important
because when promoting St. Jude’s Hospital online, the following and support will be beneficial. With us targeting online students, outside interests can play a big role because we can reach out to baked goods companies like Ellè. They have amazing cakes and custom packages along with a big following. The personal values of SNHU students will play a big role in raising the specified amount because St. Jude’s is a well-known charity, and they would be willing to buy the baked goods based on helping children in need. 2. Evaluating the Landscape SWOT analysis findings I will focus on Instagram and Facebook. Looking at their Instagram account, they have a strong presence. They not only utilize the story portion of Instagram, but they also post content on their page every other day6ty4. They also have sister pages that post content for different demographics. With Facebook, they lack response time when replying to students new and old. That platform will be my focus when it comes to promoting charity. Making sure to post content that is eye-catching and doing so on each platform, because that is the exposure that is needed and is there for students to share with their friends and family. Currently Southern New Hampshire University has a social media footprint on every platform available. Instagram and Twitter are where my targeted audience interacts with them the most. Creating unique hashtags on these platforms will provide the momentum we need to spread the word about Ellè participating in raising money for St. Jude’s Hospital. References Univstats.
