Reflection on the course
This paper will reflect upon my personal experience with this communications course. I will highlight how I can apply the knowledge I gained towards my field of study, the strengths communication wise I can bring to my field of study, and areas I can improve in regards to my communication in my field.
Knowledge Gained When it comes to the topics we covered over the seven weeks, I learned a lot. My main take away was learning how to use the library efficiently. During week one, the brainstorming and research form was essential. I was able to build and organize my thoughts with ease. The worksheet was also great in giving a step by step on navigating the Grand Canyon University library. I am now able to search for any topic and any type of document with no issue. When it comes to my field of choice communication is necessary because in technology you have to communicate in more ways than one.
Strengths The communications course showed me my strengths. The strength I highlighted is my persistence. I did not understand some of the tools. While the instructor was as clear as possible this is an instance where the barrier of being online versus in person. I did not let misunderstandings keep me stuck. Being persistent is a good strength to bring into my field of cybersecurity. Technology in general can be tricky when learning something new or trying to troubleshoot. Communication is needed because if I do not understand I need to be able to reach out to the appropriate people.
