expectations of others in the workplace.
Diversity practices and experiences impact on personal behaviour,
interpersonal relationships, perceptions and social expectations by
teaching you to know what someones behaviour is telling you about
that person or situation and how to handle it while also telling you
when you're too close in someones space and its affecting them
either in a positive or negative way. Also effecting the social
expectations by knowing whether someone accepts certain actions
being taken place such as touching of the shoulder or kissing of the
cheek based on their background and what is socially acceptable for
them and their culture.
Question 3.1.b
Explain diversity and what respect for diversity in the workplace means.
Diversity is understanding how to maintain and keep respect
regarding if it's a client based relationship or co-worker based
relationship. Having respect for diversity in the workplace means
that you are able to respect peoples boundaries and backgrounds,
regardless on where they come from, and being able to know when
somethings been taken too far or not and being able to prevent it in
the future for everyone involved.
