Communication Sciences and Disorders Careers Journal - Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Assistants
The occupation that interests me the most would be ASL Interpreting.
Work setting:
Common work environments for SLPAs include:
Clinics
Schools
Hospitals
Skilled nursing facilities
Homes
Other general work environments
What is interesting about the work settings:
I find it interesting that SLPAs work in places with people from all ages. It is interesting that kids and adults both need assistance and that in some cases you could be working with people of all ages.
What do you find interesting about support professionals in CSD:
I find it interesting how good with people and intelligent CSD professionals have to be to do their job at a
high level. As a CSD professional, you would need to be able to work with people of all ages and be able to effectively communicate with them and keep them motivated.
How might support professionals in CSD impact you with your desired career path:
CSD professionals could affect me in my desired career path (ASL Interpreting) in many ways. I could see myself working with or beside many CSD professionals while doing my job. I would be working in many of the same work environments and would be around them often.
