Assume that you are reading a study on political blogs. For the study, the researchers conducted a nationally representative phone survey of 1,000 people and asked them about whether they regularly read political blogs or not in addition to several questions about their trust in mainstream media. The researchers found that people who regularly read political blogs have less trust toward mainstream media than people who do not regularly read political blogs, and conclude that reading political blogs causes people to have less trust in mainstream media . 1.
