Kylie Neef ECE-230 10/15/2023 Instructor DeAngela Dothard Parent Communication Email Dear parents/guardians of George, I've been given the opportunity to spend a few minutes in your kid's classroom lately. In order to acquire my own expertise in the many evaluation procedures used in early childhood classrooms, I was able to spend one on one time with a small group of children during my hours of working in day, week, and day classes. I've provided George with an evaluation report before and after, then developed a method of intervention that was more appropriate for our different type of learners in the group. For the pre-assessment, George was given a book report with comments on the read-aloud novel that his class had been discussing. He was expected to examine, summarize, and provide illustrations for the main characters. I then came up with a plan for intervention. A task that will strengthen and supplement George's education. George was expected to generate ideas and write the book by himself. He had to begin by putting his ideas down on paper and creating his character, plot, and summary. Then his book was meant to be written and drawn by hand. After then, every student in this cohort received access to the post- assessment. The post-assessment was their ability to present their novel to the class.. Every student took a stand, gave a brief explanation of their book, and read aloud to the class. George did a great job and delivered his book with confidence. George is an exceptionally intelligent first-grader and was a true pleasure to work with! For the remainder of the academic year, I want George to get better at spelling and finishing sentences. By the end of the year, George will be able to write entire paragraphs by himself thanks to all of the spelling tests we provide. While he
will continue to gain knowledge at school at home he can work on mastering his complete sentences. Numerous activities are also suitable for use at home. He can write a whole sentence with a count, an adjective, and a verb if you give him a one-word topic to write about. He may practice his punctuation at the end of his sentences while he works on learning whole sentences. It will assist him if you ask him what sensation he believes the character or person is experiencing in the statement. In order to make writing those whole phrases more enjoyable, he can also utilize a whiteboard. You may also correct his spelling a little bit. Give him a word to spell on his dry erase board and watch his response. Kids may also practice their writing abilities on a ton of entertaining websites and applications. This might be really useful and entertaining for him at home if he enjoys using an iPad or computer. George could challenge and provide motivation to his siblings as well. He might instruct them on what he is studying while pretending to be at school. Children learn so much by teaching others. Overall, George did great with all the steps of this writing assessment. With more practice at home and at school, he will be a professional. If you have any question or concerns please reach out, Sincerely Kylie Neef
