Introduction
In this document, my interpersonal communication assessment will give me a guide to which areas I need to improve by comparing the areas with my lower scores versus the areas in which I have an above-average score. After performing my interpersonal communication assessment, higher scores included communication planning, message creation, and message sending. I
scored fairly in areas like listening and interpreting messages and receiving feedback. On the other hand, I could have done better in communicating using technology, as shown in the figure below. These guidelines are presented with my need to improve using technology to communicate.
Interpersonal Communication Skills Improvement Goal
Using technology is a specific aspect of interpersonal communication
that shows my most significant need for work over the next five weeks. Communication loading videos is a less-than-desired struggle that I face in my everyday life. This will be the opportunity that I will utilize to build my knowledge and confidence to overcome this type of communication
skill.
Significance and Motivation
In the next four weeks of learning and learning more in-depth about this type of communication, will help me overcome my video anxiety and try to speak slower to be clearer in my delivery. I have great inspiration from James Earl Jones, with his confidence, clarity, and empathic dialogue techniques that he demonstrates on camera. That will be the standard to aim for. If I apply myself, it is possible because my first step in this improvement is to know myself and where I need to start to work on this goal.
I built anxiety and stage fright when speaking in public; this is so ironic since in my time in the service, I would speak and guide over three hundred Soldiers at any time.
Improving this area of my interpersonal communication will be personally and professionally beneficial. From a personal point of view, is not that I have a fear of speaking in public; instead, the amount of people and the crowding is what gives me anxiety.
