Reflection summary Phase 2 GoReact Write a brief reflection summary of your Phase 2 GoReact https://lrps.wgu.edu/provision/173986654 video reflection, including the following: o insights learned from your SEI scenarios in 2a o how this experience helped build knowledge to positively impact the workplace environment For this assignment I have chosen the SEI power skills I have considered that apply the best to my everyday work and personal life experiences. 1. Self-confidence, self-awareness, and self-efficacy skill sets taught me that before judging one's reactions, we should pause for a moment and not draw conclusions. We should use the rational part of the brain and consider that the other person might have different reasons to react in a certain way than it appears. I give the benefit of the doubt and additional questions to understand better what happened. I do not let my emotions lead the conversation. I use my self-confidence and remain firm in my conviction that "killing with kindness" is the best approach. 2. Self-management, goal setting, and stress-management skill sets taught me that if I wanted to achieve goals, I had to envision where I wanted to be in the future and establish goals. It takes discipline, a lot of work, and the ability to be organized and stay focused. Along the way, stress will be an integral part of the effort to achieve the goal. An efficient way to reduce stress I have learned and applied was the MBSR method. 3. Interpersonal communication, active listening, caring&consideration skill sets are critical for developing strong long-term relationships based on trust. A good start is to use active listening, smiling with a relaxed body position, nodding, and using words that convey an understanding and non-judgemental attitude. Using words of encouragement, one feels the support offered, becoming more confident in their abilities and the new relationship.
4. Executive function, research, and curiosity skill set taught me never to stop trying to improve myself or the environment around me. Curiosity is the force that leads to enhanced knowledge, and research is the method to achieve proficiency. 5. Social awareness, sociability, and perspective-taking skill set are unique superpowers when a team doesn't know how to work together. That can be due to unclear rules or miscommunication. One usual way is team building idea. Even if one is skeptical and doesn't know what to expect, the superpower skills of perspective taking and sociability help people be open-minded to see alternative points of view and, at the same time, have an opportunity to engage in a social event. Team-building brings team members together, building effective working relationships, reducing team members' role ambiguity, and increasing productivity. In my work environment, I used the concepts learned when I noticed that transferring a patient between departments often has led to omitting details about a patient's medical information. Although even the details omitted were not critical, it often provoked frustration because, this way, the healthcare process was not efficient. So, the conclusion was that there was a communication gap between departments. So, I started to research hospital policies, investigate the administrative part of document flow, and what information would be imperative to report to eliminate this problem. Finally, I proposed to create a universal report form to be used by the different departments involved in patient care.
