EXERCISE 1
What is Agile Communication Strategies :
Communication is when two or more people send and receive information. Software
development, operations, and support all need to be able to communicate clearly. Developers
and end users need to talk to each other. Developers and operations staff need to talk to each
other. Developers and management need to talk to each other. So on. Speaking of
communication problems, this article is mostly about how to make your documentation work
better with less effort. Many people think that modelling and documentation go hand in hand,
which I think is at best questionable and therefore needs to be talked about.
ABSTRACT
Project management, especially software project management, has shifted from standard
plan-based to agile event-driven styles. Agile project management has been touted as the
paradigm shift that will transform the software industry.
Since 1969, the Project Management Institute (PMI) has provided industry-leading
certifications for project management professionals. PMI, known for traditional project
management certifications, now offers an agile alternative. The new PMI-ACP certification is
the fastest-growing PMI certification (Project Management Institute, 2014, 2015).
Agile is becoming the standard for software development projects. Despite growing
awareness and usage, agile is not always the best solution. Knowing when to use agile and
which success factors to consider is crucial for success.
Agile remains popular, and new methods appear. A popular method, The Lean Startup,
emerged in 2011. This method suggests that agile practices are not sufficient. A successful
launch of a new company, project, or product requires a strong customer focus (Blank, 2013).
Although agile was coined years ago, new methodologies are being developed to improve its
effectiveness.
This thesis aims to identify factors that may impact the success of agile projects. Specifically,
I aim to identify crucial agile practices for project success. To determine this, a case study
was conducted among agile project participants.
This study identified 53 practices that could impact project success through a literature
review. To select 23 practices, respondents were asked to identify those most commonly used
in their projects. Only 15 of these were found to be particularly relevant in agile projects.
MODES OF COMMUNICATION
Key findings :
1.
You need to be flexible:
Agile communication strategies put an emphasis on
being able to change and adapt. Teams should be ready to change how and how
often they talk to each other as the needs of the project change.
2.
Iterative feedback:
Feedback loops that happen often are very important. Daily
stand-up meetings and sprint retrospectives are two tools that agile teams often
use to get feedback, find problems, and make the necessary changes quickly.
3.
Transparency:
Being open and honest is a must if you want to build trust among
team members and stakeholders. Openly talking about progress, problems, and
wins helps keep everyone in the loop and on the same page.
