COMM5105 Healthcare Workplace Communication Cape Breton University Final Paper Assignment- Case Studies (Please choose ONE of the three case studies presented) Directions: The final paper will be a 5-8 page double-spaced take-home assignment in which students will critically analyze a case study (listed below) examining the ethical, cultural, and technical issues presented and the communicative strategies used to manage the situation, and exploring possible alternatives based on their knowledge of effective business communication. Students will be expected to incorporate a minimum of 3-5 academic sources as well as other materials in the textbook and Chapter PowerPoints. Each page is 250 words-full sentence structure -title page -body-subheadings- no pictures, no charts and no point form -references Font size 12 Font Style-Times New Roman Paragraph structure-7-8 sentences Topic sentence-support sentences-concluding Please use 10 in text citations- one sentence in length only for this submission DO NOT COPY PARAGRAPHS. Do not use Artificial intelligence software. Prohibited Artificial Intelligence Students are not permitted to use Artificial Intelligence tools to support their work in this course. All assignments will be scrutinized (through multiple means of detection) for possible inclusion of AI written text. When there is sufficient evidence to support a claim that an AI tool was used to develop work a student is submitting as their own independent thoughts, formal procedures for reporting plagiarism will be implemented. As business organizations become increasingly global in their structure and marketing, they face communication problems resulting from cultural misunderstandings. YOUR TASK – Based on what you have learned in this course , critically analyze one of these case studies examining the ethical, cultural, and technical issues presented. Explore the communicative strategies that could be used to manage the situation. Also explore the possible alternatives to remedy the situation based on your knowledge of effective business communication. What styles of communication and technical writing could be used in this process?
