Topology Objective Use variable-length subnet mask (VLSM) to support efficient use of the assigned IP addresses and, to reduce the amount of routing information at the top level. Background A class C address of 192.168.10.0/24 has been allocated for a company with four branches (Oakville, Burlington and Mississauga) connected to a central site in Toronto. Oakville, Burlington, and Mississauga have a WAN connection to Toronto. Oakville requires 60 hosts. Toronto requires 28 hosts. Burlington and Mississauga each require 12 hosts. The topology shows three routers, one per city, connected via serial links. Use Cisco 2811 routers. Turn off and insert two HWIC-2T 2-port Serial High-Speed WAN Interface Cards in the slot 0 and 1 of Toronto’s router; do it similarly with one card in each one of the other three cities. Turn back on all the routers to start configuring them. Replace this figure with a screenshot of your topology from Packet Tracer. To calculate VLSM subnets and the respective hosts allocate the largest requirements first from the address range. Requirements levels should be listed from the largest to the smallest. Calculate the subsequent levels according to the amount of hosts in each city. Indicate all the IPV4 addresses and subnet masks using the dotted decimal format. Additionally, indicated the equivalent slash (/) number equivalent to the subnet mask in each case. © 2024 Cisco and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. This document is Cisco Public. Page 1 of 3
