Question (8 points) Answer What are the steps to edit a legacy GRUB (GRUB 1) configu- ration? (2 points) Describe the significance of ‘S’ and ‘K’ when viewing the traditional runlevel scripts. Be sure to use your own words. (2 points) The scripts are named in a specific way. S or K then a number and the name of the service. The S stands for Start and the K stands for Kill. The numbers following the S or K indicate the order in which the scripts execute. Lower numbers are started or stopped first, then services with higher numbers. Identify the current runlevel and the previous runlevel. (2 points) [root@centos ~]# runlevel 2 3 This will display the run-level N 3. N is the previous run-level and 3 is the current run-level. To determine the previous run-level, you can use the output of the run-level command. In the example above, the previous run-level would be N, which stands for none or unknown.
