At this time, what do you believe to be the best estate plan for you and your family? Explain why
you believe it would be beneficial.
I am still somewhat unsure about what would be the best estate plan. I can say that we should start by ensuring that we have sufficient life insurance. We have no minor children and very little
debt at this time, but I would like to leave an inheritance for the grandkids. Our family does have
life insurance, a home, and land that is paid for along with checking, savings, and an investment account with modest amounts. I believe that our family should begin by discussing the need for a more robust estate plan. I would also like to look at putting the land in a family trust, but it is not income-producing at this time, I would like it to be a place where any family member can live but the land is not sold. What will also be important to my spouse is minimizing their taxes and keeping the land in the family. The same reasons are why I am going to create a better estate plan strategy for my family.

Draw the cash flow diagram for each of the following situations. (a) Today, you invest P100,000 into a fund that pays 28% interest compounded annually. Three years later, take a P50,000 loan from a bank at 20% annual interest and invest it in the fund. Two years later, you withdraw enough money from the fund to repay your loan from the bank and all interest due on it. Three years from this withdrawal you start taking P20,000 per year out of the fund. (b) A person deposits P10,000 each year for 9 years. He then withdraws annually from the bank P5,000 for 8 years starting 1 year after the 9th deposit is made. (c). An engineer wishes to set up a special fund by making uniform semiannual end-of-period deposits for 20 years. The fund is to provide P25,000 at the end of each of the last five years of the 20-year period. The interest is 8% compounded semiannually.
