4 ABSTRACT In this lab the student will use the Multisim software to verify their calculations of the Node Voltage Analysis of a circuit. They will observe the circuit and determine the number of nodes within the circuit, so the student will know how many nodal calculations they will be required to calculate. The student will use KCL and Ohm’s Laws’ to calculate the voltage at each unknown node in the circuit. I NTRODUCTION Nodal Voltage Analysis is a powerful circuit analysis that is based on the concepts of matrix analysis. Nodal Voltage Analysis uses the “Nodal” equations of Kirchhoff’s Current Law (KCL) to find the voltage potentials of unknown nodes around the circuit. By adding together all the nodal voltages the net result will be equal to zero. If there are “n” nodes in the circuit there will be “n-1” independent nodal equations and these alone are sufficient to describe and solve the circuit.
