EVOLUTIONARY THEORY QUESTIONS 1. IS…“Evolution a theory universally accepted because it can be proved by logically coherent evidence to be true, or because the only alternative, special creation, is clearly incredible.” to many people? I think that evolution is a universally accepted theory because it has been proven by evidence and scientists and researchers to be true. Evolution is a well-substantiated explanation of the facts of how living things are related by common descent and change over time. A scientific theory is not a guess or a speculation, but a logical framework that makes new predictions and can be tested. 2. Is the foundation of evolution “science”, or instead the rejection of the supernatural? The foundation of evolution is science rather than the rejection of the supernatural. This is because evolution is based off evidence from different fields of science such as biology, genetics, and geology. Scientific evidence has supported the theory of evolution and tested and refined their research over many years. 3. Is evolution simply the best explanation of human origins anyone has been able to come up with? Acording to some people, yes evolution might be the best explanation of human origins, but not all people think that. Many other people choose to believe God created the human species and all others as well. That being said, there might not be a right answer to that question because all people are entitled to their own opinion and have different beliefs. 4. Is evolution a field in science where one decides on the answer first, and then looks for evidence to support that predetermined answer? No, evolution is not a field of science that decides the answer first and then looks for evidence to support that answer. It is in fact the opposite of that. With evolution, scientists and researchers have found evidence and determined their answers to what they believe to have happened in history.
