FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND COMPUTING DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING EEL 3110C LABORATORY COMPONENT SECOND ACTIVITY: Verifying Kirchhoff’s Voltage Law and Kirchhoff’s Current Law. 1- Set Up the following circuit. Verify Kirchhoff’s voltage and current laws. Measure and tabulate all currents and voltages. Briefly explain and comment your results. Theory and Purpose The purpose of the lab and this circuit in general is to challenge and reinforce our knowledge and understanding of Kirchhoff laws for calculating current and voltage. This circuit in particular will put our knowledge to the test regarding the addition of resistors in parallel and in series. In this circuit It is important to consider that the resistors are in parallel, which mean we have to use another formula to add them.
Rtotal= 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/Rn... . Once we find the total resistance, we proceed to use ohm’s law to solve the rest of the circuit. Results Current: IR1 =2.5mA, IR2 =0mA, IR3 =2.5mA, IR4 =2.5mA, IR5 =2.5mA Voltage: VR1 =2.5V, VR2 =0V, VR3 =2.5V, VR4 =2.5V, VR5 =2.5V Handwritten results
