2 Definition Argument Essay Assignment The terms "ethical" and "moral" relate to the principles and ideals that influence moral behavior and decision-making. It is a complicated idea that has long been the topic of philosophical investigation and debate, and its meaning has varied through time to reflect shifting society norms and values. Ethical concerns are critical in molding our interactions with others and establishing what is good and wrong in a variety of circumstances, including personal relationships, professional settings, and society. Today, ethical behavior is frequently associated with integrity, honesty, and accountability. Individuals deemed ethical are those that continuously behave in line with their ideals and principles, even when it is difficult or controversial to do so. They are well-known for their dedication to fairness, justice, and respect for others, which they display through their words, acts, and judgments. At the same time, ethics may be a subjective affair, with different perspectives on what constitutes acceptable and immoral action ( What Ethical Guidelines Do Psychologists Follow? , 2020). This can lead to ethical quandaries and obstacles, especially when competing values or interests are at stake. In such instances, ethical decision-making necessitates individuals seriously evaluating their own beliefs as well as the influence of their actions on others, as well as weighing the pros and disadvantages of various possibilities. The definition of ethical encompasses a wide range of moral principles and values that shape our behavior and decisions. It represents a fundamental aspect of our humanity and plays a critical role in shaping the relationships, communities, and societies in which we live. Whether we are navigating personal relationships or engaging in professional or public life, ethics provide a framework for making responsible and compassionate choices, and for upholding the values that are essential to a just and equitable society.

3 Social media has been an increasingly controversial problem in schools in recent years, raising several ethical and legal concerns about privacy, free speech, and the appropriate use of technology. The First Amendment case of J.S. v. Bethlehem Area School District and the internet privacy case of B.L. v. Mahoney Area School District are two especially high-profile cases that have created substantial public discussion and controversy. J.S. v. Bethlehem Area School District had a student suing the school district after being reprimanded for making an aggressive social media statement disparaging of her school's rules and employees. The issue was eventually heard by the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, which decided that the student's remark was protected by the First Amendment since it was uttered off-campus and did not constitute a significant disturbance to the instructional environment. The ruling was widely seen as a significant win for student free expression rights in the digital era ( J.S. v. Bethlehem Area School District , 2017). B.L. v. Mahoney Area School District is a seminal case that considers whether schools may be held accountable for student speech that happens off-campus and outside of school hours. The case included a youngster who was suspended from school for constructing a fictitious MySpace page critical of a school administration. Because the profile was made off-campus and outside of school hours, the student claimed that the suspension violated his First Amendment rights. The Third Circuit Court of Appeals eventually found in favor of the kid, determining that the school district lacked the jurisdiction to sanction the student for off-campus speech that did not cause significant disruption to the instructional environment. Even in the digital era, the court stressed the significance of preserving students' free speech rights, holding that schools can only limit student speech if it is significantly and substantially harmful to the educational process (B.L. v.
