When we take a look at our current society and the rise of mental health diagnoses, it’s time to
stop ignoring the issue as if it does not exist and start fighting for fair and ethical treatment.
B. Why is your stance a good one for an argument research essay? (at least 3 sentences)
From my own experiences I have seen people with mental health issues lose their voices as they
become part of society’s unreliable. Their illness takes center stage, and people no longer see
them as an equal but more of a liability or waste of resources. No matter what struggle someone
is going through, everyone deserves fair and equal treatment and support.
C. Who might disagree with your stance and why? (at least 3 sentences)
The older generations have a tendency to carry an agenda of enforcing a generalized stigma onto
everyone they come into contact with. How their parents had the idea that you accept how things
are and move on and that failure to do so will make you less than and not as tough. Believing
that our ignorance of one’s own trauma and issues is the more powerful way to live, and that has
helped lead us to our mental health pandemic.
