RHETORICAL DRAFT MANPREET KAUR EMBRY-RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY- WORLDWIDE ENGL123 10/26/2023
I am analyzing the text which I took from the discussion section of ENGL 123 module 2. In this rhetorical analysis, I will examine an email written by the author to their high school administrator, Mrs. Bowen, regarding issues with accessing online classes. The purpose of the email was to request access to the school's Wi-Fi network in order to complete their coursework. By analyzing the rhetorical situation, genre, medium, and the author's use of logos, tone, and timing, we can gain insights into the effectiveness of the email in achieving its intended purpose. By providing this logical explanation, the author made a compelling case for their request. It demonstrated their understanding of the issue and their proactive approach in finding a solution. Furthermore, the author adopted a semi-formal to formal tone in their email. This tone conveyed respect for Mrs. Bowen's position as the administrator while also advocating for a change in the school's policy. The author's respectful tone aimed to establish a professional and collaborative atmosphere, increasing the likelihood of a positive response from Mrs. Bowen. Additionally, the timing of the email was carefully considered by the author. They sent the message early in the morning, anticipating that Mrs. Bowen would check her email and have the rest of the day to address the issue. This strategic timing ensured that the email would be seen
