Running Head: ONLINE FILE STORAGE
Module 1-
Application: Online File Storage
This will be my fifth term taking classes online with Embry-Riddle, and my initial assessment from learning about One Drive and Canvas file storage is very eye opening. I did not realize the ease of use and potential these tools provided for students. For that matter also, I honestly didn’t know we had access to One Drive, which makes me wonder why I did not take this class earlier. I spent a good portion of my time exploring this application, as the videos from Lynda.com were instructive and very easy to follow, with little difficulty. Additionally, I didn’t know Canvas saved all the assignments I have completed and submitted. I kind of feel like I have been living under a rock, so to say! The only problem I had was
with logging in with the desktop application I downloaded for my MacBook Air, as
the application does not recognize my user login, which is the same as my school email that worked for the One Drive webpage. Besides that, I definitely will be using both of these tools more actively, as
I have been accumulating quite a few documents through my academic efforts. Also, One Drive presents an opportunity for easier collaboration on assignments. In a past class, I found it to be difficult and a bit annoying to deal with multiple documents, rather than everyone editing the same document, which is as easy as sending a link through One Drive. So far, I am very excited with the little I have learned, and will recommend this class to be taken earlier for future Worldwide students.
