Figure 10-14 Income Spent on Food People spend on average less than 20 percent of income for food
in developed countries compared to more than 40 percent in developing countries. I believe that this
map achieves its purpose because you can clearly see the different percentages of income spent on
foods in many countries, including developed and developing countries.

densities, etc.
This map shows the income spent on food in different countries around the world. You can see that
Africa, Europe, and the Middle East have the highest percentages.

Dark Blue: 40 percent and above
Blue: 20-39 percent
Light Blue: Below 20 percent
Gray: No Data

What is the scale of the map? Why did the geographer choose this particular scale? Would the map be better

The scale of this map is 4000 miles. This is served on a small scale. The geographer chose this
particular scale to show a better representation of all countries. This map serves perfectly.

There is no apparent bias in this map.

Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Arctic Ocean, and Indian Ocean.

This map relates to the region (vernacular regions) because it includes countries around the world.

This map refers to the income spent on foods in different regions around the world. Figure 10-14

Europe, and the Middle East have the highest percentages of income for food. This information does
reflect my knowledge because it's new to me.
