Southern Yatsugatake Volcanic Group Southern Yatsugatake Volcanic Aggroup (SWQk0ö\³, Minami-Yatsugatake), besides known as just Yatsugatake is a volcanic aggroup of inactive volcanoes set on the border of Nagano Prefecture and Yamanashi Prefecture along Honsh²–âapan. Description The Southern Yatsugatake Volcanic Group is part of the Yatsugatake Mountains. The southerly group is outlined as the mountains southward of the Natsuzawa Pass. The highest crest of the mountains is Setting Aka and the lift is 2,899 metres. The southern Yatugatake mountains ar immerse and get alpine characteristics. The mountains of the Northern Yatsugatake Volcanic Group are gentler and lower. This volcanic aggroup is listed among the Hundred famous mountains n Japan. Thither the mountains ar listed arsenic Yatsugatake. Setting Tateshina is also portion of the Yatsugatake mountains, but is listed separately. These mountains are r of the Yatsugatake-Ch·6†–â±Mgen Quasi-National Park. Geology The volcanoes are stratovolcanoes that are 1 billion to 200,000 years old. The stone is mainly basalt and andesite.
