Self Reflection:
Our group project was to reduce waiting time for cardiac arrest patients in the cardiology
department of St. Mary's Hospital. Since a team's success is based on its dynamics, a lot of stress was given to an open line of communication. Communicating effectively fostered an environment of collaboration in which members felt comfortable sharing their points of view. Regular updates on progress provided a better understanding of each team member's work, creating a direction. Carefully assigning tasks according to team members' unique skills maximized the performance. The use of technology improved the communication and accelerated the process. (Lukic & Moga)
I learned various skills of a project manager in Week 2 slide 3, including leadership ability analytical, and critical thinking. However, I used excellent communication and interpersonal skills and my local knowledge to ensure everybody was on board and knew what they were doing. Local knowledge helped me understand our topic better.
Although everyone on our team communicated well, occasional misunderstandings resulted in interpersonal difficulties. Fortunately, these issues were quickly identified and resolved, allowing the project to resume as usual. Moreover, excessive reliance on specific team members for their expertise resulted in obstructions when confronted with unexpected challenges or short deadlines, delaying project progress.
During our project, a team member ensured we stuck to our timeline while submitting our parts during the project. I implemented this skill of commitment to the team and did my part on time to facilitate the project moving forward. Another skill that I learned from
