Improving the Culture or Climate of the School
Doral Park is a high school located in Doral. In August 2023, it opened its doors to the 98% Latino student body. Doral Park High School is the school of
second chances. Students are referred to the school due to academic and behavioral challenges. Although students are challenged, Doral Park is designed to create connections and prepare them for post-secondary success. The school holds a capacity of 500 students total and 250 students during each session. Doral Park has two sessions: a morning session from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM and an afternoon session from 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Each classroom holds 25 students because the school operates through a self-paced program. Teachers are facilitators who guide students toward the end goal of graduating high school. This setting promotes small group and one-to-one instruction. The intern believes the administration must create the school's culture and climate.
