REQUEST STATEMENT “Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a real disorder that develops when a person has experienced or witnessed a scary, shocking, terrifying, or dangerous event. These stressful or traumatic events usually involve a situation where someone's life has been threatened, or severe injury has occurred” (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), 2023). PTSD, a condition impacting one's mental state and overall well-being, can affect individuals in various situations. According to Mosel (2023), “military service members returning from combat face an increased risk of developing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) due to the traumatic events they may have witnessed or directly experienced” (Mosel, 2023). It is recommended that, before returning home from deployment, military personnel undergo assessment for signs of PTSD and receive timely treatment. Swift intervention and follow-up treatment are crucial if symptoms are detected. A dedicated team should be dispatched to provide the necessary psychological interventions for affected military personnel to ensure the success of a humanitarian aid trip in such war-torn areas. The base camp comprises residential compounds and military provisions, encompassing weapons, transportation, medical facilities, and a significant presence of military personnel. Both countries share an urban demographic. The team should prepare for the prevailing climate, characterized by dry, hot, and highly humid desert conditions. HEALTH CHALLENGES “Some individuals may have difficulties being aware or forthcoming about the emotional or cognitive aspects of PTSD and may instead present with complaints about physiologic symptoms such as insomnia” (Inoue et al., 2023). Additional health issues include depression, suicide, and substance use disorders, which may hinder access to appropriate treatment. Within the military, seeking any form of assistance was stigmatized unless it pertained to a severe injury. Numerous veterans feared that addressing mental health issues could jeopardize their military careers. This mindset often results in self-care practices, commonly involving alcohol, bringing forth a distinct set of challenges. OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH Individuals diagnosed with PTSD face an increased likelihood of experiencing episodes triggered by external factors that serve as stressors, leading to outbursts. Responses to various situations manifest as mental breakdowns stemming from experiences as seemingly innocuous as
