WK5 DISCUSSION RESPONSE All healthcare facilities have many business objectives. This can be increasing patient outcome, increasing revenues, monitoring and maintaining expenses, increasing positive patient experience. "The goals may not change much, but the way each goal is phrased, applied and measured can have a huge impact on staff performance", (Aderant, 2023). The two hospital business objectives that I chosen are improving patient satisfaction and managing costs. Improving patient satisfaction: This is one primary objective for a hospital, providing quality healthcare services to all its patients. Healthcare facilities need to make sure all patients receive quick and accurate diagnosis, treatment. plans, and personal care. hospital patients also want a high-level of confidentiality and privacy when it comes to their sensitive medical data. When a healthcare facility fails to protect this information patients can express a negative experience and can potentially harm the facilities reputation. Information security strategy objective: Create and implement safeguard measures to protect the confidentiality of patients medical information. In these security measures we should ensure limited access to medical records to only authorized employees, using the most up-to-date software and hardware technologies to store and transmit patient medical data, and schedule and conduct on-going employee training and awareness regarding information security best practices. Managing costs: All healthcare facilities have to balance conducting and providing the best healthcare services while, also managing the overall costs. Ian today's age of ever increasing cost to healthcare, hospitals have to find the most efficient way to decrease expenses without decreasing patient care. One of the best departments to help optimize cost is a hospitals IT systems. Information security strategy objective: Applying cost snd efficient information security measures that coincide with the hospital's budget. We can accomplish this by implementing automatic security solutions, such as a SIEM to not only monitor and detect security incidents, reducing IT systems, and also conducting regularly scheduled audits to ensure compliance and regulatory policies of the hospital industry.
By aligning both information security strategy objectives and business a hospital can accomplish both by ensuring the security initiatives will provide much needed value to the hospital. Also, while ensuring the security of its patients sensitive data. Aderant. (2023).
